Eduardo Nunez has ended his baseball career. The athlete announced the news on his social media page last Thursday.
Nunez, 35, played in the MLB for 11 seasons, in which he played for both New York teams as well as Minnesota, San Francisco and Boston. His last major league appearance was in 2020, when the Dominican played two games for the Mets. Nunez played baseball in Taiwan last year and hasn’t played at all this year, at least not at the professional level.
The infielder played a total of 858 games in the MLB, posting 58 home runs, 148 doubles, 19 triples, 309 RBI and 142 stolen bases, batting .276/.310/.404 in 3,008 at-bats. Nunez also has one hit in the All-Star Game (2016) and one World Series victory (2018).
