Baseball players from MLB teams have refused to start the season as demanded by the league, which has offered to take another pay cut.
If they refuse to take pay cuts, the MLB intends to have a shortened season, which the players are also unhappy with.
“Earlier in the week, the MLB announced its intention to plan for a drastically shortened 2020 season if the players do not negotiate salary concessions. These are concessions on top of the billion-dollar cuts that have already been negotiated,” said Tony Clark, head of the baseball union.
“The players have offered more games, two years of expanded playoffs, salary adjustments if the playoffs are eliminated in the 2020 season. But instead of cooperating, the league responded by saying it would cut the season unless the players agreed to a salary cut.”
